Our client is a dynamic and progressive firm of Chartered Accountants.
Due to continued growth and expansion of the business, a new role has become available as a Tax Assistant to join a team of experienced Tax Managers. This is a superb opportunity to join an established, professional Practice with an excellent reputation. This role provides the genuine opportunity for career progression and after a period of time there will be support for the successful candidate to study for the ATT.
You:
Having decided that accountancy is the career path you wish to take, you will now be seeking the opportunity to specialise in tax and study for the ATT.
To be considered for the role of Tax Assistant ideally you will be;
- working in an accountancy practice or a professional accounting team
- Educated to at least “A” level standard
- Numerate and analytical
- Knowledge of IRIS would be very useful but not essential
- An organised, detail focused, accurate and motivated individual who can work well in a team.
- Some knowledge of completing tax returns
- PAYE knowledge
- Experience of working to deadlines
Role:
Working as part of a small team, the role will cover all aspects of personal and corporation tax, although will have a main focus on personal tax matters. The main purpose of the role is to assist with the management of the firm?s personal tax and corporation tax client portfolios. Duties will involve assisting the tax managers with:
- Requesting records from clients and review records received to ensure complete
- Preparation and online filing of personal and partnership self-assessment tax returns.
- Preparation of tax computations for sole traders and partnerships
- Undertaking all day to day tax administration of portfolio of personal clients tax affairs ? checking codings, dealing with routine correspondence with HMRC, providing payment instructions and reminders
- Assisting the payroll manager with the firm’s payroll client portfolio
- Preparation of tax computations for sole traders and partnerships
- Some general bookkeeping
